Welcome to the world of UK Scent Sport, where we celebrate and explore the incredible sense of smell that dogs possess. Scent detection is a fundamental aspect of a dog's genetic makeup, and we harness this natural ability in a sport that not only creates a strong bond between you and your dog but also provides them with a fulfilling outlet for their scenting instincts.

At UK Scent Sport, we offer four different types of scent detection activities for dogs to participate in. On the lower levels, there is searching for Kong, where dogs search for and identify the source in different scenarios, and retrieve on catnip, where they locate and retrieve a hidden catnip-scented item and bring it back to their handler. Additionally, there is Mantrailing, where dogs follow a scent trail to find a person, and Scent Matching, which involves matching scents in specific objects. As you progress to higher levels, there is also the exciting opportunity to engage in people screening.

The first steps...

To get involved with UK Scent Sport, the first step is to find a qualified UK Scent Sport instructor. We have several instructors located across the country, and we are also in the process of developing an online version for those who prefer virtual training. These instructors will guide you and your dog through the training process, ensuring you have the necessary skills and knowledge to participate in assessments and competitions.
